Planning permission has been granted for a new health innovation centre at Bury College which will be completed by the end of September next year. This will bring more opportunities for people in Bury to gain the skills required for roles in key sectors.
Alongside this, as part of the Government’s #PlanforJobs, the Prime Minister has announced thousands of free training opportunities in sought-after STEM subjects.
With unemployment down and payroll employees on the rise (increase of 207,000 since last month), the Government will further invest in the skills needed to support high-quality, well-paid jobs.
65 courses will be made available at 10 Institutes of Technology across England – allowing 4000 adults to upskill for free.
In addition, more than 100 further education and higher education providers will benefit from an £18 million cash boost to expand training and provide new equipment to support technical education.
