🗓️ Monday 🗓️

🔵 Westminster Education Forum meeting on nursery education / ongoing funding issues and the impact of COVID 19

🔵 Conversation with Bury ILD on how we can improve services and provision for adults with learning disabilities to ensure they can lead independent, fulfilling lives.

🔵 Teams call with the Vice-Chancellor of the University of Salford to discuss Institute of Technology, joint bid with Bury College and how we can improve training and employment opportunities for Bury North residents.

🔵 Northern research Group of Conservative MP’s with Secretary of State for Work and Pensions to discuss Universal Credit uplift and other DWP issues.

🔵 Meeting of CURU group of Conservative MP’s with Northern Ireland Secretary.

🔵 Conservative Councillors in Bury group meeting, discussing the upcoming budget and how we can improve services and facilities for local people in our Borough.

 

🗓️ Tuesday 🗓️

🔵 Teams call with UNISON to discuss Local Authority Funding

🔵 Meeting with Bury / Bolton Citizens Advice to discuss Universal Credit and how we can support this hugely valuable service and its clients.

🔵 Northern Research Group of Conservative MP’s roundtable to discuss levelling up in the North of England.

🔵 Meeting of Justice Select Committee with Lord Justice Holroyd, Chair of the Sentencing Guidelines Council.

🔵 Meeting with Universities Minister regarding support package and assistance for students.

 

🗓️ Wednesday 🗓️

🔵 Visit to Ramsbottom Vaccination Centre.

🔵 Attended World Cancer Day virtual drop-in event for Members of parliament.

🔵 Meeting of Justice Select Committee.

🔵 Meeting with Culture Minister, on how we can support high level digital and AI training/apprenticeships for Bury North residents, improving employment opportunities.

🔵 Meeting with Chief Officer at Fairfield Hospital.

 

🗓️ Thursday 🗓️

🔵 Meeting with Cancer Research UK, discussing the impact of the pandemic on cancer services within Bury North.

🔵 Attended meeting of APPG on HIV / Aids, for a briefing with the Elton John Foundation.

🔵 Meeting with Schools Minister regarding the reopening of schools and the appropriate exam/assessment process to use this academic year.

🔵 Meeting with major local business discussing the regional economy and potential financial support for local community projects.

🔵 Attended Armed Forces Bill briefing with Minister for Veterans.

🔵 Spoke at a conference on Kashmir Solidarity Day.

 

🗓️ Friday 🗓️

🔵 Attended briefing with Vaccines Minister on national/regional rollout.

🔵 Meeting with local headteacher

🔵 Meeting with Conservative MP’s regarding the Universal credit uplift.

🔵 Spoke at Kashmir Solidarity event, organised by Pakistan’s High Commissioner.

🔵 Meeting with Sport England as to how we can support programmes and investment in facilities to encourage a healthy/active lifestyle.

🔵 Attended meeting with Adullum Housing in respect of a new support facility within Bury, outlining local residents’ concerns.

🔵 Meeting with local headteacher.

James Daly has welcomed the latest figures showing 32 per cent of people in Bury North have now received a vaccine
In total, more than 19.3 million doses have been administered to over 18.6 million people across the United Kingdom – equivalent to 1 in 3 adults.
